Nicely kept KOA. Sites are long and roads are easy to navigate. Big rig friendly. We camped at Fairbanks / Chena River KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips from campers about Fairbanks / Chena River KOA
- Ssasee 15 minutes in either direction to large grocery stores etc NOrth Pole has sales tax where Fairbanks does not. If you like beer we highly recommend Latitude 65 (construction on the Steese is going to make their summer hell, so be patient trying to get in there. And be sure to Stop by Ursa Major Distilling if you like Spirits before leaving the Interior. They are the best in the state (by far) and have an Incredible and creative cocktail menu. BOTH have a deck and I know Dogs are def welcome at Ursa Major!3 years ago Fairbanks / Chena River KOA
- Roaming Fishnuts Lots to do in Fairbanks. We went on Riverboat Discovery and the Arctic Circle Tour Bus where we saw the Northern Lights. Lots of shopping in Fairbanks - Walmart, Fred Meyer, Home Depot. Also enjoyed shopping for souvenirs for family at the North Pole.5 years ago Fairbanks / Chena River KOA

Tip for Other Campers:
Chena Hot Springs Resort North Pole, AK. Dont bother looking for the North Pole Visitor Center (in 2019 it was in a small log cabin and was very quaint), its long gone and it looks like plans to build a new Center near the car wash.

Tip for Other Campers:
Drive the Dalton Highway to Coldfoot to visit the Gates to the Arctic NP. Well worth it for the sites and experience. Do not recommend taking your RV on this road, it is a very difficult road, dirt and filled with very deep potholes.

Museum of the North at the University of Alaska; Santa Claus House in nearby North Pole, Alaska; Pioneer Park (esp the Stampede Show!), the Riverboat Discovery (a "disney" version, but very educational and well done, yes do it!).
