Tips from campers about 5 Trails RV Park

  • farmboy25 Washington, AR, was the Confederate State Capitol for two years in the 1860's after Union forces conquered Little Rock. The Visitor Center for the park is located in the Courthouse in the middle of town. There are numerous exhibits to view, and there are a number of old homes and other buildings in the town. Washington was located on the trail leading to Texas. It is famous as the place where James Black created the original Bowie knife for Jim Bowie. The Williams Tavern Restaurant is located next to the Courthouse and is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There are no other businesses (store, fuel) in town, but Hope, AR is only 8 miles away along I-30.
