“Small famcamp with 10 sites, on other side of main base. ”

Military only with 10 sites. Nice playground for the kids. Sites were gravel and has barbecue grill. Opposite side of base. Nice commissary and BX for shopping. AMC museum right next to campground....

Update: We read up on the horseshoe crabs. Turns out these beaches are where they spawn and the fact that they are there is important. The fact that the dead ones remain there is still a question.
