Tip for Other Campers:
Do not follow RV life directions once on 283. RV life leads you to a day use area. Follow 283 until you see the sign to campground #3.
“Beautiful Site! ”
Nightly Rate: $35 USD
This was a beautiful site to stay for a couple of nights. The people were nice. I would go back. We camped at Old Hwy 41 #3 Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Tip for Other Campers:
There is a gate that shuts at 10:30-7. The GPS was not correct. It took me to the day-use area. Watch for the sign to turn left if heading East.

“Beautiful location . Site 22 right on lake Altoona. Only negative is road noise from highway. ”

Long asphalt drive to back down to site, but quite doable.

We have a beautiful lakefront site. One caution, rv life takes you to the day center on the left. You have to keep going to the camping road further down. It is not well marked and says the road ends...

I'm trying to find out about the locked gate hours. Can you enter and exit outside of the 10:30pm-7am closed gate hours if you are a resident? Is there a pass code?...

“Quiet, Small Park”
Nightly Rate: $17 USD
Small Corps of Engineers Park on the Lake. Nice, roomy sites. And best of all, it is quiet. We only stayed overnight but plan to return. We camped at Old Hwy 41 #3 Campground in a Motorhome.
