- Oldchinahand Shady Oaks is about 8 miles outside of Marshalltown. Marshalltown is pure small town middle America. Worth a drive through, nice town park, several historic sites. Standard fast food joints at the 30 - 14 intersection. If that doesn't do it for you, you better like Mexican. They outnumber the fast food joints 3 to 1. Upside is that they offer regional variety. Walmart and Aldi's for groceries. Maytag Laundromat is interesting. Very clean. All new machines. On site attendant who will do your laundry, fold or iron if you desire. Has four tanning booths to fill your wait time. Masseuse. And a holistic practitioner. Amazing!4 years ago Shady Oaks RV Campground
