“Nicely shaded and beautiful beach”

Tips from campers about Hunting Island State Park
- SCLove2RV Choose your site wisely based on the size of your Rig. The campground entrance is the first entrace. There are 2 other entrances - one to the Lighthouse and one to the Nature Center. At the Nature Center entrance, make sure you take the trail to the "Boneyard." A very interesting place where you can see how a barrier island ebbs and flows as it relates to beach erosion. The lighthouse is currently closed to climbing (will open again in 2025) but it is still very cool to see and provides some good photography opportunities. Johnson's Tavern is about 1 mile from the campground and is a great restaurant!2 years ago Hunting Island State Park

- Lazy Daze Ralph I only saw one location to eat on the way in and it was quite aways away from the campground (aka not walkable or bikeable). You are very secluded.
