Tips from campers about Colter Bay Campground
- Laurieamccoy Do not miss Jenny Lake, and if you have time, take the hike that goes around the lake. Dormans at Moose Junction is a fun stop for pizza and all sorts of Teton souvenirs.2 years ago Colter Bay Campground
- MichaelT80550 Yellowstone is about a 40 minute drive away - frankly if your plan is to spend your time in Yellowstone - there are campgrounds up there. However to use Colter Bay as a base for a single day trip is fine. In Grand Teton, make sure you spend some time at Jenny Lake. There is also a pizza place at the marina just north of the entrance to Colter Bay that is open during the summer season and is supposed to be good (we were out of season so we couldnt try this). If youre traveling north to Grand Teton from the Colorado area, gas gets very expensive once youre north of Rawlins, WY. Surprisingly the gas at the station in Colter Bay was less than places outside of the park.2 years ago Colter Bay Campground
